We are pleased to welcome Joseph Mangham-Brown to Naturally Compliant as Senior Environmental Consultant. Joseph joins us with several years of experience supporting ecological and environmental compliance on infrastructure projects across Scotland.
A bit about Joseph’s background
Joseph has contributed to a range of projects including underground cable reinforcement, large-scale pumped-storage hydro, telecoms expansion, and port and marina development. His work has involved habitat and species assessments, designing mitigation measures during ground investigation and enabling works, and advising on ecological risk management in line with UK and Scottish legislation. He has also supported the development of environmental frameworks and helped introduce digital tools to improve reporting and governance.

A Broader Perspective on Sustainability
Outside of his work in the UK, Joseph has spent time in Romania working with an association that supports subsistence farmers. He’s been learning about traditional land management techniques that have evolved over generations and remain inherently sustainable. He explained, “As younger generations move away from this way of life, the culture and knowledge risk being lost. It’s been important for me to be on the ground, learning from communities that practise stewardship in ways modern methods often overlook.”

One quote that’s guided Joseph throughout his career is often attributed to Confucius:
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
